Additionally, leads Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal are horribly miscast and have no charisma. Yet the special effects are quite impressive, and the disaster sequences are visually stunning. But unfortunately, The Day After Tomorrow is more concerned with politics than good storytelling...and it shows.
